Privacy Policy

Yuppa has no user account. Your profile, history and pinned items remain on your device. A product photo is processed only when you request an appraisal.
1. Who operates Yuppa
Yuppa is developed by Mehmet Sancaktutan. Privacy questions may be sent to desteksancaktutan@gmail.com.
2. Data kept on your device
Your optional nickname, allergens, dietary preferences, skin preferences, scan history, pinned items, interface language and notification choices are stored locally. Removing the app removes this local data, subject to iOS backup behaviour.
3. Product appraisal data
When you request an appraisal, the selected product photo, the app language and product details derived from it are sent to Yuppa’s Cloudflare-hosted service. The service forwards the image and relevant product text to Anthropic to identify and assess the product. Under Anthropic’s standard API retention, inputs and outputs may be retained for up to 30 days unless a different retention arrangement applies. The service may use web search to corroborate publicly available product information.
4. Service logs, rate limits and caching
Cloudflare may process network and operational information such as an IP address, request route, response status and timing to deliver and protect the service. Yuppa uses coarse network buckets for abuse prevention. Yuppa does not place image bytes in its own caches after processing; a cryptographic image fingerprint and recognition result may be kept for up to 10 minutes to avoid duplicate work. Product appraisal results may be cached without an account identifier for up to 30 days; results backed by web search for up to 24 hours.
5. Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your device, and entitlement status may be managed through RevenueCat. Yuppa does not receive your card details. Apple, Google and RevenueCat process purchase and subscription identifiers under their own privacy policies.
6. What we do not do
Yuppa does not run ads, sell personal data, create an advertising profile, request contacts or precise location, or require an account.
7. Retention and deletion
Local data can be removed from within the app or by deleting the app. Cloudflare Workers operational logs may be retained for up to seven days depending on the account plan. Anthropic API inputs and outputs are subject to the standard period of up to 30 days described above and may be retained longer when required for safety or law. Anonymous product-result caches expire as described above. Contact us if you need help with a privacy request.
8. Children
Yuppa is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly create accounts or collect account profiles from children.
9. International processing
Cloudflare, Anthropic, Apple and RevenueCat may process data in countries other than yours, subject to their contractual and legal safeguards.
10. Changes
We may update this policy when the app or its service providers change. The current revision date appears at the top of this page.
